Cat and Dog Registration Information
All dogs and cats within the City of Mankato need to registered with the city annually by January 31st. All cats and dogs must provide proof of vaccination to be registered.
Costs:
Dogs: $5
Unfixed Dogs: $10
Cats: $5
Unfixed Cats: $10
Animal Impound/Shelter Information
All cats and dogs impounded by the City of Mankato will be kept a minimum of three days, or until their owner picks them up. We make a good faith effort to notify owners of the pet.
Dogs or Cats must be registered, up to date vaccinations, and any fines must be paid prior to releasse.
To claim your dog please go into City Hall between the hours of 7am and 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Impound Fees:
Dog: $50 per dog per day
Cat: $40 per cat per day
Off Hours Animal Release: $50 plus impound fee
